All madrasahs instructed to ensure daily PT, sports

The Madrassah Education Directorate has directed all madrasahs across the country to ensure daily assembly (PT) and sports activities for students, according to a directive issued Monday.

Madrasahs without physical education teachers have been instructed to assign a suitable and sports-competent teacher from among existing staff and to take steps to fill vacant posts as per rules, the directive said.

The order, signed by Director (Training and Development) Md Abul Kalam Talukder, said the government is committed to expanding sports at the grassroots level and in educational institutions, and that daily assembly and sports for students are essential to building a youth-driven, prosperous Bangladesh.

Under the directive, physical education assistant teachers at all madrasahs under the directorate will organise daily assembly and sports and ensure spontaneous student participation. Where the post remains vacant, heads of institutions will temporarily assign the duty to a suitable, sports-competent teacher from existing staff. The directive takes effect immediately.
