3 workers burnt in Keraniganj gas line blast

Three workers sustained burn injuries in a gas line explosion while working at a house in the Boraitala area of Keraniganj early Saturday.

The injured are Rakib, 14, Rajan, 25, and Sumon, 27. They were taken to the emergency department of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery around 5:00am.

According to their colleague Sajeeb, the workers were repairing a gas line at Arif Mia’s house on Friday night when a sudden explosion in the pipeline left them burned.

Dr Shaon Bin Rahman, resident physician at the burn institute, said Rakib suffered burns to about 17 per cent of his body, while the injuries of the other two are comparatively minor. All three are currently out of danger.
