Dhaka University (DU) students staged a sit-in outside the proctor’s office demanding updates on the investigation into a car accident that injured seven students and calling for justice.
The protest began around noon on Wednesday after students arrived at the office seeking details of the legal and administrative measures taken against those responsible for Tuesday’s incident. Finding Proctor Israfil Prang absent, they began demonstrating outside the office.
Protesters issued an ultimatum to lock the proctor’s office if he failed to appear within an hour and provide a clear explanation of the administration’s actions.
Revolutionary Students’ Unity Member Israt Jahan Imu said, “Proctor must arrive within the stipulated time and give a clear account of the steps taken in response to the incident. Otherwise, the students would lock the office”.
