SC to remain closed for half a day following death of Jamiruddin Sircar

The Supreme Court will suspend proceedings in both its Appellate and High Court divisions for the second half of Sunday in honour of the late Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, a senior Supreme Court lawyer, former Speaker of Parliament and former acting President.

The Chamber Judge's Court of the Appellate Division will also remain closed throughout the day.

The announcement was made in a notice, signed by Supreme Court Public Relations Officer Md Shafiqul Islam, issued on Sunday.
