Heavy rain has caused waterlogging on low-lying roads in various areas of the capital, including Banani and Khilkhet. This has caused traffic congestion in those areas. The matter was reported on the Facebook page of the Gulshan division of the traffic police after 11 am today, Sunday.

The message said that continuous heavy rains have caused widespread waterlogging in Banani, Khilkhet, Dhaka Gate and various low-lying areas of the metropolis, including the lower part of the Kakoli ramp of the elevated expressway.

It was reported that due to this, the movement of vehicles on the relevant roads is slow and traffic jams have been created in some places.

The message further states that vehicles coming down from the elevated expressway at the Kakoli intersection and vehicles plying on the roads below should exercise extra caution.

The police message, requesting all motorists and pedestrians, said: "Avoid unnecessary travel. Drive slowly in waterlogged areas and maintain a safe distance. Use alternative routes if possible. Follow the instructions of the traffic police and be patient."
