GAZA CITY, July 12: Gaza's civil defence and hospitals said an Israeli drone strike and gunfire killed five people and injured several others on Sunday.
A ceasefire remains in place between Israel and Hamas, but it has not halted violence in Gaza, and efforts to secure a lasting agreement to end the war have stalled.
Civil defence officials said a drone targeted a metal workshop in a southern district of Gaza City, the territory's main urban centre, killing four people and injuring others.
Al-Shifa hospital said it had received the four bodies.
The Israeli military confirmed carrying out the strike, saying it hit "terrorist infrastructure", without providing further details.
In a separate incident, Israeli machinegun fire killed a girl in Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, according to the civil defence agency, which operates as a rescue service under Hamas." AFP
