
A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck the Bay of Bengal off the coast of India’s Andhra Pradesh early Sunday, with tremors felt in Visakhapatnam and nearby areas.
According to the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), the earthquake occurred at 5:05:46 am (IST) at a depth of 10 kilometres. Its epicentre was located about 225km off the Kakinada coast in the Bay of Bengal.
The tremor prompted many residents to leave their homes, but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
