Dear Sir,
Continuous heavy rainfall and severe flooding have disrupted normal life across Bangladesh, with HSC candidates among the worst affected. Floodwaters inundated homes, schools and roads, leaving many students unable to study properly before their examinations.
In several areas, candidates waded through waist-deep water to reach examination centres, while others faced long delays due to waterlogged roads. Some even lost or damaged their admit cards and other essential documents after falling into flooded ditches. These hardships have taken a heavy physical and psychological toll, preventing many students from performing to the best of their abilities.
As HSC results are crucial for university admissions, the government and relevant educational authorities should consider the difficulties faced by candidates in flood-affected areas. If necessary, special measures or alternative arrangements should be introduced to ensure that no student’s future is compromised by circumstances beyond their control.
