Bangladeshi actor Ziaul Faruq Apurba has won millions of hearts with his remarkable performances on screen. Beyond the spotlight, he values family, simplicity and personal growth just as much as his acting career. In an exclusive Life & Style tête-à-tête with The Daily Observer, Apurba talks about his daily routine, maintaining work-life balance, fitness, fashion, travel and the values that continue to shape both his personal and professional life.

1. How do you usually start your day?
My day always begins with gratitude. Before the noise of the world takes over, I like to have a quiet moment to center myself. Having a morning cup of tea or coffee and spend some time with my Family. Starting the day surrounded by the people I love keeps me grounded and reminds me of my purpose before anything else.

2. What does a typical day in your life look like when you're not filming?

When the cameras are off, my life finds a beautiful rhythm between deep family connection and creative passion. A typical day at home is blissfully normal; I love catching up on sleep, spending quality time with my children, and simply being present for my family.

When I’m not focused on home, my space often becomes a hub for creativity. I frequently host producers, directors, and writers who come over for collaborative discussions. We sit together to brainstorm, refine scripts, and map out the vision for future projects. These intimate, creative conversations are where the magic of storytelling truly begins.

Beyond that, I make it a priority to stay connected with the community, so you will often find me attending dawats, social gatherings, or industry events. Whether I am deeply immersed in a script discussion or enjoying a meal with friends and family, my off-days are all about balancing the artistic work I love with the people and experiences that keep me grounded.

3. How do you maintain a healthy balance between your career and personal life?

It is a constant balancing act, but my rule is simple: when I am at work, I give 100% to my craft, but the moment I step through my front door, I am not an actor! I am a husband, a father, and a son. I owe everything to my family's incredible support and patience. To maintain balance, you have to learn to say no to extra work sometimes, because time with loved ones is irreplaceable.

4. What do you enjoy doing to relax after a busy shooting schedule?

After weeks of intense character work and long hours on set, the best relaxation is just being home in a quiet environment. I love listening to soft music, watching a good thriller or romantic comedy, and diving into the world of horology and classic style, things that let my mind rest. Just sitting on the couch with my family and friends is the ultimate stress-reliever.

5. How important are fitness, diet and self-care in your daily routine?
As an actor, taking care of your body is a form of respect for your audience and your directors, but more importantly, it's about being healthy for my family. I try to maintain a balanced diet and stay consistent with my fitness routine to keep up my stamina. Self-care to me isn’t about vanity; it’s about mental and physical well-being so I can give my best to both my work and my home.

6. What is one grooming or skincare tip that you always follow?
The best tip is the simplest one: consistency and hydration. Heavy camera makeup and harsh set lights take a toll on the skin, so keeping it clean and deeply hydrated is essential. Beyond any product, though, a sound sleep, a genuine smile and a positive mindset are the best grooming tips anyone can carry.

7. How would you describe your personal style, and who inspires your fashion choices?
I would describe my style as classic, comfort, tailored, and timeless. My ultimate fashion inspiration, however, comes from my late father. He taught me that true style isn't just about the clothes you wear, but the dignity, humility, and respect with which you carry yourself.

8. What is your favourite travel destination, and what makes it special for you?
While traveling abroad to beautiful cities is wonderful, my absolute favorite destination will always be anywhere I am surrounded by my family. The place matters far less than the company. A simple, quiet getaway where we can walk together without distractions, share meals, and make memories is what truly fills my heart.

9. What advice would you give to young men who dream of becoming actors?
Be patient, be disciplined, and never stop learning. Fame is a byproduct, but craftsmanship is the real journey. Respect your directors, co-artists, and crew. Most importantly, never forget where you came from. Stay close to your family and hold onto your values, because when the applause fades, it is your roots and your character that will keep you standing.

10. What exciting projects or personal goals are you looking forward to in the near future?

Professionally, I am incredibly grateful for the love the audience has shown me. I’m looking forward to exploring deeper, more diverse characters and pushing boundaries in storytelling, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Personally, my ongoing goal is simply to stay healthy, happy and peace-full and to be the best son, father, husband, and human being I can possibly be, making my family-friends and my fans proud every single day.
