Four more children have died of confirmed measles and related symptoms in the country, bringing the total death toll from the disease to 867.
Among the deceased, two died of confirmed measles and two others of suspected measles symptoms.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) provided the update in a message issued by its Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room on Saturday (August 8).
According to the DGHS, two children died of confirmed measles and two others of suspected measles between 8:00AM on Friday and 8:00AM on Saturday.
With these fresh deaths, a total of 98 people have died of confirmed measles and 769 of suspected measles since March 15.
Besides, 99 new confirmed measles cases and 677 new suspected cases were identified during the same period.
According to DGHS data, a total of 117,444 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals across the country from March 15 to date.
Among them, 113,200 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
