Members of Parliament (MPs) representing the five parliamentary constituencies in Narayanganj have expressed a firm commitment to work alongside the business community to drive the development of the industrial and commercial city.
The announcement came during a courtesy meeting and view-exchange session held between the five Narayanganj MPs and the board of directors of the Narayanganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) at the chamber's conference room on Saturday afternoon.
NCCI President and Narayanganj-1 MP Mostafizur Rahman Bhuiyan Dipu presided over the meeting.
Narayanganj-2 MP Nazrul Islam Azad, who could not attend the venue due to physical illness, addressed the meeting via telephone. He assured business leaders of his full backing, stating,
"You will find me by your side for any needs of Narayanganj's business community. We will work shoulder-to-shoulder with the chamber. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is working to build a beautiful, prosperous, and progressive Bangladesh, and as his fellow travelers, we want to stay beside you."
Narayanganj-5 MP Advocate Abul Kalam, Narayanganj-3 MP Azaharul Islam Mannan, Narayanganj-4 MP Advocate Abdullah Al Amin, former NCCI president and BCB director Masuduzzaman Masud, and Narayanganj-5 MP's political secretary Abul Kausar Asha were present, among others.
Speaking at the event, Narayanganj-3 MP Azaharul Islam Mannan emphasized unity among lawmakers. He stated that all five MPs would jointly push to turn Narayanganj into a metropolitan city and bring it under the metro rail network, noting that the country cannot move forward without business leaders taking the lead.
Addressing the gathering, Narayanganj-1 MP and NCCI President Mostafizur Rahman Bhuiyan Dipu stated that collective efforts from all five MPs could solve many local issues. He urged factory owners to join the chamber platform to address ongoing industrial challenges effectively.
