179 development projects implemented at Lalpur

 
NATORE, July 18: Lalpur Upazila Parishad of the district implemented 179 development projects worth Tk 3 crore during the fiscal year 2025-2026. 

In this connection, State Minister for Social Welfare Farjana Sharmin Putul had given special sanction to the Upazila Parishad to complete the works soon under Kabita, Kabikha and TR programmes. Beside this, repairing of infrastructure and financial assistance to different educational institutes was also included under these projects.

In this connection, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Barkat Ullah informed that a monitoring committee was formed to verify the total works of the projects according to the advice of the State Minister Farjana Sharmin Putul. Government officials, public representatives and experienced persons were included in the committee to watch the works properly.

The members of the committee supervised the works correctly and gave necessary instructions to the contractors against wrongdoings. The works were implemented at one municipality and 10 Union Parishad areas of the upazila, the UNO added. 

Shahinur Rahaman, a member of the project monitoring committee, informed that he used to inform Minister Putul about the progress of the works regularly. 

A contractor Kawsar Hossain said, they tried to work well for the projects abiding by the directions of the State Minister Putul.

Meanwhile, Upazila Engineer Awlad Hossain informed that he tried hundred percent to do the works perfectly. 

Project Implementation Officer (PIO) Masudur Rahaman said, “I monitored the whole works regularly being present self on the spots according to the direction of the Minister Putul.”

In this connection, State Minister Farjana Sharmin Putul said, “Corruption, malpractice and irregularities to the works will not be allowed in the development works in my area. If these are proved, legal action will be taken immediately.”
