PSTU to start new faculty

PATUAKHALI, July 19: The proposal to establish a new Facul ty of Health Sciences has been approved in the 58th Regents Board meeting of Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU).

The proposed faculty will have three departments: Physiotherapy, Physical Education and Sports, Nursing and Health Sciences.

PSTU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr S M Hemayet Jahan said that now, steps will be taken to implement the next administrative and academic activities once the approval of the University Grants Commission (UGC) is received.

Experts concerned have expressed hope that this is going to be an important addition to the educational programme of PSTU, which will open the door to new possibilities in health science-based higher education and research.
