Bangladesh crowned Women's Junior AHF Cup Champions with win over Kazakhstan

 
Bangladesh were crowned champions of the Women's Junior AHF Cup after defeating Kazakhstan 2-0 in the gold medal final in Muscat, Oman, on Saturday night, capping an outstanding unbeaten campaign with the coveted continental title.

Having topped the five-team round-robin with four wins from four matches, the young Tigresses once again rose to the occasion in the final, producing a disciplined and clinical display to overcome Kazakhstan and lift the trophy.

Bangladesh had entered the final brimming with confidence after sweeping aside Hong Kong, China 6-0, edging Uzbekistan 1-0, thrashing Pakistan 8-0 and defeating Kazakhstan 2-1 in the league phase. They finished the tournament with a perfect record of five victories from five matches.

The title triumph underlined Bangladesh's growing stature in age-group women's hockey, with the team displaying consistency, attacking flair and defensive resilience throughout the competition.

The victorious Bangladesh Under-20 women's hockey team returned home on Sunday.  The triumph marks another significant milestone for Bangladesh hockey and provides fresh impetus for the development of the women's game, with the country's rising stars proving they can compete successfully on the continental stage and bringing home the Women's Junior AHF Cup title in impressive fashion.
