Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has stated that in the ongoing dengue and chikungynya situation, the primary task is to destroy the mosquito larvae. Chemicals used to control mosquito are not proving very effective.
These remarks were done by the LGRD Minister while joining an online platform event titled ‘Mosquito Control Technology.’ The event was organized by Youth to World at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in Ramna on Monday afternoon.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that if the newly invented technology can be used on an experimental basis, the joint programme of city corporations and innovators will succeed in controlling mosquitoes.
‘The technologies currently being used for mosquito control are unable to function properly. The technology being discussed, which uses domestic chemicals, holds promise,’ he added.
