Foreign ministers discuss labour cooperation between Bangladesh, Qatar

Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman held a meeting with Qatar’s Minister of Labour Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al Marri on Wednesday, with the two sides discussing ways to strengthen labour cooperation between the two countries.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting covered issues of mutual interest, with particular focus on labour cooperation, the welfare and protection of Bangladeshi migrant workers, and creating more employment opportunities in Qatar for skilled and semi-skilled Bangladeshi workers.

Qatar’s labour minister praised the contribution of Bangladeshi workers to the country’s economy and development.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding and strengthening existing cooperation between Bangladesh and Qatar in the labour and manpower sectors.
