BNP worker hacked to death in capital

BNP ward worker named Palash, 36, was allegedly hacked to death over previous enmity in Sabujbagh of Dhaka. The incident occurred around 7:30PM on Tuesday in an alley near Rajarbagh water pump in Sabujbagh.

According to local sources, critically injured Palash was taken to Mugda Medical College Hospital. Later he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) emergency department. On duty doctors declared him dead around 10PM.

The victim’s sister, Josna Akter said their home is in Sonapur village, Raipur upazila of Lakshmipur district. She added, Palash was involved in BNP politics. He lived in the Madartek intersection of Sabujbagh. He got married six months ago. There was a recent physical altercation with a man named Royel. However, there is uncertainty regarding the murderer.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Saifur Rahman of Sabujbagh Police Station said a death had occurred in the Sabujbagh area. Police reached the hospital after being informed. Police are working at the scene to gather details, and the matter is under investigation.
