YouTube icon MrBeast aka Jimmy Donaldson has married South African creator Theya Booysen. They tied the knot in a private ceremony in the British Virgin Islands earlier this month. Just Jared reported.
The newlyweds made their first public appearance together at MetLife Stadium during the 2026 World Cup Final in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Sunday.
The nuptials follow their engagement over the Christmas 2024 holiday.
Who is Thea Booysen?
Booysen is a multi-talented content creator, gamer, and author. She streams on Twitch and operates the YouTube channels TheaBeasty and More Than Human.
She holds dual degrees in law and psychology. She uses her platform to share psychology facts and has authored a book titled The Marked Children. Booysen has also appeared in two of MrBeast’s popular videos, including his "$1 Vs $100,000,000 Car!" project.
A movie-like first encounter
The couple's love story began during a canceled trip to Antarctica. Donaldson, alongside creators Logan Paul and Casey Neistat, got stranded in South Africa after members of their team contracted COVID-19.
During an unexpected night out, Booysen agreed to join them for coffee. She wanted to see if Donaldson’s online persona matched his real-life personality.
Donaldson used the meeting to run through a mental checklist of qualities he wanted in a partner. The two bonded over neuroscience, psychology, and her book.
Following the initial meeting, Donaldson reached out via Twitter direct messages. He made two follow-up trips to South Africa before Booysen traveled with him to the United States.
