Five graduating students of Chittagong University (CU) secured instant job offers across entry-level and early-career tiers during a day-long career fest organized by Nagad, the digital financial service provider of the Bangladesh Post Office.
Organized in collaboration with the MBA Association of the University of Chittagong (MAUC), the recruitment and career drive titled ‘Nagad Navigate: Shape Your Future’ was held on Wednesday at the university’s BBA Auditorium.
Hundreds of students participated in the day-long event to explore employment opportunities within the FinTech sector. The Nagad HR recruitment panel conducted on-site CV screenings, evaluations, and direct interviews for various roles, including Territory Officers / Territory Managers (TO/TM), Sales Team positions, and Nagad’s flagship internship program, N-Risers.
Expressing her delight after receiving a job offer on the spot, Farhana Alam Nipa said, ‘Getting hired right on campus feels surreal. The seamless process and direct feedback from HR leaders gave me immense confidence.’
Another selected candidate, Md Ridoy, noted, ‘This platform not only provided job opportunities but also offered direct clarity on what top corporate employers expect from fresh graduates.’
Highlighting the organization's focus on youth empowerment, Nagad’s Senior Associate Administrator Syed Himyanuddin Ahmed said, ‘Our goal is to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs. The enthusiasm and potential of Chittagong University students reinforce our commitment to nurturing local talent.’
Ahmed also led a session on artificial intelligence, where participating students won prizes during an interactive Q&A segment.
Speaking on the initiative, ANM Wazed Ali, Vice-President of the MBA Association of the University of Chittagong, stated, ‘Students outside Dhaka often face limited corporate exposure. By bringing on-the-spot interviews, CV screenings, and career guidance directly to our campus, Nagad has redefined traditional hiring practices. This academia-FinTech collaboration will boost student confidence and help corporates identify top-tier talent early on.’
The event featured several specialized knowledge-sharing sessions, including ‘MFS: The Future of Digital Careers,’ ‘Professionalism That Elevates,’ ‘Resume That Wins,’ and ‘Shape the Future: How AI is Transforming Careers.’ HR professionals also provided personalized one-on-one career counseling to assist students with resume optimization and interview readiness.
In addition to the professional sessions, students participated in interactive quizzes and recreational activities, including foosball and PlayStation 5 gaming modules.
Prior to the event at Chittagong University, Nagad conducted a similar recruitment drive at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) as part of its ongoing nationwide youth engagement series.
