As flood situation has improved, the suspended Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations under Chattogram Education Board and related Madrasah and Technical Education Boards will resume on July 27, official sources said.
According to a press release, Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee announced the resumption of the suspended examinations on Thursday.
Remaining HSC, Alim, HSC (BMT), HSC (Vocational) and Diploma in Commerce examinations will be held according to the previously announced schedule, the release said.
The exams were postponed due to flooding that disrupted communication and affected students’ ability to reach centres, according to the release.
The decision was taken after reviewing reports from deputy commissioners, the Chattogram Education Board and stakeholders, while considering the safety and well-being of examinees. A revised schedule for previously postponed exams will be announced later.
Education Adviser A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon also confirmed the resumption of the stopped examinations, saying the revised timetable would be published after the completion of the ongoing scheduled examinations.
