B'desh condemns Israel’s E1 settlement plan in West Bank

Bangladesh strongly condemned Israel’s plan to advance settlement construction in the E1 area of the occupied West Bank, calling it a violation of international law.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government stated that such actions breach relevant UN Security Council resolutions and undermine the territorial integrity of the occupied Palestinian territory.

The ministry warned that the expansion further damages prospects for a viable two-state solution.

Bangladesh called upon Israel to immediately halt all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory.

Reiterating its stance, the foreign ministry affirmed Bangladesh's unwavering support for the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to establish an independent State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The government urged the international community to step up diplomatic efforts to prevent actions that threaten Palestinian statehood.

It also called for collective action to secure a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the Middle East grounded in international law.

The statement concluded by reaffirming Bangladesh's solidarity with the Palestinian people and its commitment to supporting their aspirations for freedom, dignity, justice, and statehood.
