Five more children have died with measles symptoms across the country, taking the total death toll from measles symptoms to 715. Meanwhile, 95 people have died from confirmed measles cases so far.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the information in a message issued by its Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room on Friday.
According to the report, no deaths from confirmed measles were recorded between 8:00AM Thursday and 8:00AM Friday. However, five children died showing symptoms of the disease. With this, the total death toll from measles-related complications has reached 810 since March 15.
Besides, 187 new confirmed measles cases were detected during this period. At the same time, 950 people were identified with measles symptoms.
The DGHS report further stated that 104,717 patients with measles symptoms have been admitted to hospitals since March 15. Among them, 101,056 patients have recovered and been discharged.
