Seven more people have died from measles and measles-like symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, including one confirmed measles death in Dhaka.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), six others died with measles-related symptoms, including four in Dhaka and two in Sylhet.

The latest fatalities have raised this year's death toll from measles and related symptoms to 76, comprising 95 confirmed measles deaths and 671 deaths with measles-like symptoms.

The DGHS disclosed the figures in a statement on Tuesday, with data updated until 8:00 am.

During the same period, 122 new measles cases were confirmed, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 13,735.

The health authority also reported 868 new suspected cases, raising the cumulative number of suspected measles cases to 113,244.
