SSC result preps to end by July 28

All preparations for publishing the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examination results will be completed by July 28, Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee Chairman Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman said on Sunday.

Professor Akhtaruzzaman, who is also chairman of the Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, said the government would fix a convenient date for publishing the results once preparations were complete, and the education boards would proceed accordingly.

He said he was unaware of any date having been finalised for the announcement.

His remarks came after claims circulated on Facebook and other social media platforms that the SSC and equivalent examination results would be published on July 30. Professor Akhtaruzzaman dismissed the claim as completely misleading, saying no date had yet been fixed.

He also said an earlier plan to publish the results by July 20 could not be implemented, although preparations were now progressing rapidly.

Under existing rules, results are normally published within 60 days of the conclusion of the written examinations. This year's SSC and equivalent examinations began on April 21. The written examinations concluded on May 20 for the general education boards and on May 24 for the Dakhil and SSC Vocational streams.

A total of 1,857,344 candidates registered for this year's examinations, including 1,418,398 SSC candidates, 304,286 Dakhil candidates and 134,660 SSC Vocational candidates.

The rate of expulsion during the examinations was lower than in previous years.
