The Bangladesh CNG Filling Station and Conversion Workshop Owners Association has withdrawn its planned nationwide shutdown scheduled for July 30.

The association leaders said the decision to withdraw the programme was taken in view of the ongoing gas shortage across the country.

Earlier on Monday, they made a threat at a press conference at Akram Tower in Bijoynagar, in the capital, that they will close CNG filling stations indefinitely from August 23 if their demands, including an increase in the price of compressed natural gas (CNG), used as a fuel for driving vehicles, are not met.
