A court in Dhaka on Tuesday sentenced former Bangladesh Bank deputy governor Sitangshu Kumar Sur, also known as SK Sur Chowdhury, to three years in prison in a case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) over his failure to submit a wealth statement.
Judge Ayesha Nasrin of Dhaka Special Judges’ Court-2 handed down the verdict, ACC prosecutor Abul Kalam Azad confirmed.
Sur was produced before the court from jail on the day and sent back to prison with a conviction warrant after the verdict.
