Three more persons have died from dengue in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00 am on Tuesday, while 512 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country during the same period.
The information was disclosed in a statement issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday. With the latest fatality, the total number of dengue-related deaths in Bangladesh this year has risen to 47, while the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases has reached 14,156.
An analysis of the fatalities shows that among the deceased 28 were women, accounting for 59.6 percent of the total, while 19 were men, representing 40.4 percent.
