PM stresses on quality education reforms

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday stressed the need to improve the quality of education through regular classroom attendance, effective teaching practices, continuous teacher training, technology-based learning and stronger administrative accountability.

He made the remarks during his first official visit to the Ministry of Education since assuming office, where he reviewed the ministry's overall activities and exchanged views with senior officials, heads of departments and agencies, and field-level education officers.

At the review meeting held at the Bangladesh Secretariat, ministry officials presented updates on ongoing activities, development projects, implementation of the National Education Policy and administrative performance. After reviewing the presentations, the prime minister issued a series of directives aimed at strengthening the country's education system.

He emphasised ensuring regular student attendance, improving teaching quality, providing continuous and updated training for teachers, expanding the use of technology in education and strengthening accountability across the education administration.

Field-level education officials shared their experiences, highlighted existing challenges and placed recommendations for improving educational standards.
