3 more die of measles 

Three more children died with measles and like-symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 1,075 children were reported to have either confirmed measles or measles-like symptoms during the same period.

The information was disclosed in the Directorate General of Health Services' (DGHS) latest measles situation report released on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the report, two of three deaths recorded in the past 24 hours were among children with measles symptoms and one died from laboratory-confirmed measles during the reporting period.

Since March 15, a total of 735 children have died with measles symptoms nationwide, while 96 children have died from confirmed measles infections. The combined death toll from confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms has now reached 831.

During the last 24 hours, 79 children were confirmed to have contracted measles, while 996 others were reported with measles-like symptoms. A total of 925 children were newly admitted to hospitals during the period, while 963 were discharged after receiving treatment.

DGHS data show that since March 15, Bangladesh has recorded a total of 126,540 suspected measles cases and 15,739 laboratory-confirmed infections. Of them, 109,366 patients have been admitted to hospitals, while 105,198 have already been discharged after recovery.
