Tarique Rahman has taken a major initiative to revive the historic child talent hunt competition, ‘Notun Kuri,’ across the country in a modernized format.

The platform was originally introduced by former President Ziaur Rahman to nurture children creative potential. The aim was to discover hidden talent from grassroots level while building future leadership.

According to party and government sources, the revived national competition aims to ensure a safe and creative environment for children, transcending political dynamics.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman believes a nation's long-term progress depends heavily on providing equal growth opportunities to children, particularly those in remote rural areas.

Under his direction, the revamped 'Notun Kuri' will move beyond traditional cultural segments like music, dance, recitation, acting, and drawing. The new format will integrate modern disciplines, including science and technology, ICT, general knowledge, debate, and innovative thinking.

Talent selection will take place progressively from the union, upazila, and district levels to the divisional tier through neutral judging panels.

Special categories and prizes have been introduced to prioritize children with special physical and mental needs, ensuring an inclusive platform for all participants.

Cultural experts, educators, and parents nationwide have welcomed the initiative, noting that reviving healthy cultural and intellectual practices will help protect the younger generation from digital addiction and unsavory influences.
