Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited has warned of severe low gas pressure across its distribution network after a technical fault at the Maheshkhali LNG terminals reduced the supply of re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) to the national grid by approximately 550 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD).

In a statement issued on Thursday, the state-owned gas distributor said the disruption would affect all categories of consumers under its franchise area, including residential, industrial, commercial, power generation and compressed natural gas (CNG) customers.

According to the statement, the technical problems at the Maheshkhali LNG terminals have significantly reduced RLNG supply to the national grid, resulting in widespread low gas pressure throughout the Titas service area.

The company said the situation would persist until normal gas supply is restored.

Titas Gas also apologised for the temporary inconvenience, saying consumers may continue to experience disruptions until the technical issues are resolved.
