PM hands over appointment letters to 3 persons with disabilities

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday  began his official engagements at the Bangladesh Secretariat by handing over government appointment letters to three persons with disabilities, reaffirming the government's commitment to promoting inclusive employment.

The Prime Minister presented the appointment letters while entering his office at the Cabinet Division in the Secretariat this morning. 

The recipients are Ayesha Akter from Saghata upazila in Gaibandha, Neela Khatun from Kamarkhanda upazila in Sirajganj, and Md Hasmat Ali from Narail Sadar Upazila.

Receiving their appointment letters directly from the Prime Minister, all three expressed their delight, describing the occasion as not only the beginning of a new career but also an important step toward fulfilling their dreams.

Neela Khatun, who was born without both hands, completed her master's degree by writing with her feet. She has been appointed as a teacher at the National Foundation for the Development of the Disabled in Mirpur, Dhaka.

Similarly, Ayesha Akter, who also has a physical disability and completed her master's degree by writing with her feet, received her appointment letter with her mouth because she does not have both hands. She has been appointed as a Class Supervisor at BIAM Laboratory School and College in Gaibandha.

Meanwhile, visually impaired Md Hasmat Ali has been appointed as a Union Social Worker under the Department of Social Services.

Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Minister Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, State Minister Farzana Sharmin Putul, Social Welfare Secretary Dr Mohammad Abu Yousuf, Bangladesh Foundation for the Development of the Disabled managing director Tarikul Alam and Department of Social Services director general Shah Mohammad Mahbub were present.
