Dhaka's train services with northern region halted

The Dhaka-bound 'Silk City Express derailed in Sirajganj on Tuesday morning, disrupting rail communication between the capital and northern parts of the country.

The derailment occurred at around 10:55AM at Shaheed M. Mansur Ali Railway Station in Sirajganj.

Following the derailment, train services of Dhaka with the northern region came to a complete halt. Several trains were reportedly stranded at different railway stations as a result of the disruption.

The cause of the derailment and details of any casualties or damage were not immediately known.
