The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has taken extra security measures across the capital for programmes marking July Mass Uprising Day, with increased intelligence monitoring to prevent any possible sabotage by banned or extremist groups.

RAB-2 Deputy Director (Media) Major M Mubin Rahman Taposh said a 212-member team has been deployed to provide security at key state events, including the President’s programme at the China Friendship Conference Centre and the inauguration of the July Memorial Museum at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar by the Prime Minister.

The security plan includes intelligence surveillance, checkpoints at key entry and exit points, drone monitoring, regular patrols, and coordination with the Special Security Force (SSF). Bomb disposal units, dog squads and a cyber security team have also been deployed to deal with any security threats and prevent the spread of rumours online.

RAB said it is fully prepared to maintain law and order during the observance and urged the public to report any suspicious activity to the nearest RAB office or its hotline.
