July Uprising Day-2026 was celebrated at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET).
On this occasion, a discussion meeting was organized at CUET’s Academic Council Room on Wednesday.
CUET Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem was present as the chief guest at the event and Director of the Student Welfare Department Professor Dr. Md. Saiful Islam presided over the event.
Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor Dr. Kazi Delwar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering Professor Dr. Asiful Haque, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Kausar, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning Professor Dr. Muhammad Rashidul Hasan, Registrar (Additional Duty) Professor Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir were present as special guests.
CUET Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem said, some turning points in history happen in the fresh blood of the youth, which transforms a simple movement into the downfall of dictatorship.
The mass uprising of the students and the masses in July-August 2024 was such an unprecedented chapter in the history of Bangladesh. I pay tribute to all the martyrs of the July mass uprising, I remember all the heroes including Shaheed Abu Sayeed, Shaheed Wasim. I pray for the forgiveness of their souls. At the same time, I express my condolences to all the injured.
Among others, President of the Teachers’ Association, Professor Dr. Mohammad Ahsan Ullah, President of the Officers’ Association, Engineer Syed Mohammad Ikram, President of the Employees’ Staff Association, Md. Jamal Uddin, Deputy Director (Public Relations) Mohammad Fazlur Rahman were present on the occasion.
