Ispahani Group’s Pahartoli Textiles gets LEED Platinum

Pahartoli Textiles Limited, a 100 per cent export-oriented spinning mill of Ispahani Group, has achieved the prestigious LEED Platinum Certification from the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

Production Unit-2 of the mill, located at North Pahartali in the port city, received the distinction for environmentally responsible and sustainable yarn production.

Green Building Council Sri Lanka Chairman Mahendra Jayalath formally handed over the certificate to Ispahani Group Chairman Mirza Salman Ispahani at a ceremony on Sunday (August 9, 2026).

Ispahani Group Managing Director Mirza Shakir Ispahani, Director Mirza Ahmed Ispahani, and Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Engr Belayet Hossain were present at the event alongside senior bankers, architects, and industry leaders.

The certification recognizes the unit's energy-efficient machinery, solar power usage, and sustainable production standards.

Established in 1954, Pahartoli Textiles employs nearly 1,800 people across five production units, generating an annual yarn output of roughly 23,000 metric tons.

Around 70 per cent of its raw materials come from sustainable sources. The facility features a 1-million-liter rainwater harvesting system, reuses generator exhaust gases, and houses over 12,000 trees on its premises.
