Girls outperform boys

Girls have once again outperformed boys in both the pass rate and GPA-5 tally in this year's SSC and equivalent exams.

Of the 911,000 female candidates who sat the exams, 607,939 passed, putting the girls' pass rate at 66.68 per cent.

Among the 917,694 male candidates, meanwhile, 530,938 passed, giving boys a pass rate of 57.86 per cent.

This year, 63,896 girls and 52,780 boys secured GPA-5s.
