A low-pressure system has formed over the North Bay and adjoining West Bengal-Bangladesh coastal areas and may intensify, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
The system may cause gusty winds over the seaports and coastal areas.
In a warning issued Wednesday morning, the Met Office asked Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports to hoist local warning signal No. 3.
Fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and operate with caution until further notice.
