PANCHAGARH, Aug 12: On the occasion of Nazrul Barsho, a three-day English Spoken and Pronunciation Workshop was inaugurated by Executive Magistrate Nahid Hasan on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Magistrate Mst Shukria Parveen on Wednesday morning.
It has been organised by the Nazrul Pathagar Language and Debating Club Panchagarh, in collaboration with the district administration.
Convener of the Club Azharul Islam Jewel chaired the inaugural ceremony. Thirty-five students from 10 schools of Sadar Upazila are participating in the workshop ending on August 14.
The Executive Magistrate said, “Students should focus on hard practice to acquire English language skills. If we want to develop ourselves as global citizens, there is no alternative but to acquire good English language skills. To that end, in addition to enriching ourselves in English, students should also acquire digital literacy as the English language has a huge impact in all fields.”
The workshop was attended by Nazrul Pathagar Language and Debating Club Panchagarh General Secretary Maklesur Rahman Mintu, former president of Panchagarh Press Club Shafiqul Alam, senior journalist Shahidul Islam Shahid, Ekhon TV journalist Lutfar Rahman, and Star News journalist Raihan. Rabiul Islam Rafiq, member secretary of Nazrul Pathagar Language and Debating Club Panchagarh, convener of the workshop and English lecturer of MR Government College, moderated the programme, while Shahidul Islam, joint convener of the club and senior teacher of Panchagarh Government Girls’ High School, also spoke. Certificates of the workshop will be awarded to the students at the closing ceremony.
