Mbappe promises Real Madrid fans a return to winning ways

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has promised supporters that the Spanish giants will return to the trophy-winning path this season, saying he can already see the hunger and determination within the squad.**
Real Madrid have endured two consecutive trophyless seasons, but Mbappe believes the club’s winning mentality will help them bounce back in the 2026-27 campaign.
La Liga’s new season gets underway tomorrow, with Real Madrid set to begin their campaign against Espanyol on August 22 at 1:30am Bangladesh time. Ahead of the opener, Mbappe spoke to the club’s official channel about his preparations, the team’s ambitions and working under head coach Jose Mourinho.
“I try to give my best because this is the time when we can work the hardest,” Mbappe said. “When the matches start, you have to manage the pressure on your body. Right now is the time to work at full strength so that we are ready for the first league match.”
The French forward also praised Mourinho, highlighting the Portuguese coach’s experience and winning mentality.
“We have spoken a lot during the World Cup and over the last few days. Having such an experienced coach is very positive. He knows how to win and he knows the path to getting back to winning ways,” Mbappe said.
After two seasons without a major trophy, Mbappe made it clear that Real Madrid’s objective is straightforward.
“We have to win. I am sure we will win trophies again this year. I am certain about it,” he said. “It will be possible because I can see that hunger within the team. We will stay focused throughout the year to make the Real Madrid fans happy. There is nothing more important than winning trophies for the team and bringing joy to the supporters.”
Mbappe also reflected on his first goal for Real Madrid, scored two years ago against Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup final.
“The first match with a new team is always special, and when that team is Real Madrid, it becomes even more important and magical, especially when it is a final,” he said.
The 27-year-old added that joining Real Madrid remains a dream he continues to enjoy every day.
“Coming here was my dream, and having the opportunity to be here every day still feels like a dream. I know how to enjoy the present. I know how lucky I am to be at Real Madrid, but now we have to win,” Mbappe said.
Addressing the supporters directly, Mbappe thanked them for their continued backing and promised a stronger campaign.
“Hello, Madridistas. Thank you for all the support you have given us over the last two years. I know this year will be even more important, and together we will achieve great things. We have to be ready and, honestly, we are ready,” he said.
