A fire broke out at a carton warehouse belonging to a garment factory in Sardaganj area of Kashimpur, Gazipur, on Saturday.

Getting information, eight units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the scene.

The fire originated at around 11:15AM.

The cause of the fire, the extent of damage and whether anyone was injured or killed were not immediately known.

Ariful Islam, an official from the Kashimpur Fire Service, stated that upon receiving reports of the fire, two units from the Kashimpur Mini Fire Service station arrived at the scene first. As the intensity of the fire grew, six additional units from the Sarabo Fire Service arrived to assist in bringing the blaze under control.

Ariful Islam further noted that the presence of a large number of empty cartons in the factory contributed to the severity of the fire.
