As gas pressure winds down, CNG drivers' income reduced due to gas shortage

As gas prices rise and the pumps are running dry with low gas pressure, CNG and car drivers income are going down as a result.

As the gas crisis intensifies again and the gas pressure decreases, CNG-powered autorickshaw and car drivers have suffered greatly. Many drivers are moving from one pump to another to get gas.

And even if there is gas available somewhere, they have to wait in long queues for what could take hours. This has not only wasted time but also reduced their daily income.

However, due to low gas pressure, many pumps aren’t supplying sufficient enough gas. Some go to several pumps and return with empty cars without getting gas, even if they get up early in the morning.

Drivers complain that where earlier they could get gas in their cars within a short time, now they have to stand in line for hours. As a result, the number of trips has decreased, leaving not enough money in hand after paying fuel costs, vehicle owner deposits and other expenses.

Those concerned say that if the gas supply to the national grid decreases, it affects the supply to CNG filling stations. If the gas pressure decreases, it is not possible to supply the specified amount of gas.

On the one hand, this creates long lines at CNG stations, and on the other hand, it also affects the transport sector.

However, the good news is that the Summit LNG Terminal has started supplying gas to the national grid again. Gas supply from the terminal started at 6:10 pm yesterday, Friday.

According to the Energy Department, initially about 110 million cubic feet (MMCFD) of gas is being supplied to the national grid, and the supply will gradually increase. It is expected that the gas supply from the Summit LNG Terminal will be filled to full capacity by 2 AM on Saturday.

Earlier, due to rough seas, there was a problem in gas supply at the Summit LNG terminal. Due to the situation, the cargo was removed and gas supply from the Summit terminal to the national grid was stopped, further exacerbating the country’s ongoing gas crisis.
