Nur Accuses Jamaat-Shibir of Attack in Kushtia

Gono Odhikar Parishad President and State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Nurul Haque Nur has accused Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir activists of attacking his party leaders and activists during a protest rally in Kushtia.

In a Facebook post on Saturday evening, Nur alleged that the attackers were armed with machetes, hockey sticks, knives and cleavers.

He claimed that Kushtia district Gono Odhikar Parishad General Secretary Abdul Khaleque, Chhatra Odhikar Parishad’s Kushtia Government College unit president Sohan Ahmed and around 50 others were seriously injured in the attack.

Nur condemned the alleged attack and warned Jamaat-Shibir against what he described as “excessive” activities.

The allegations could not be independently verified immediately.
