Mild earthquake felt in Dhaka and surrounding areas

A mild earthquake was felt in Dhaka and surrounding areas early Monday morning.

The earthquake, measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale, occurred at 5:32am, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

The epicentre was in Shibpur of Narsingdi, about 47 kilometres northeast of Dhaka. The earthquake originated at a depth of 10 kilometres beneath the surface.

No damage or casualties have been reported so far.
