WASHINGTON, Aug 17: Trump says that Iran should “put up the white flag of surrender”. He also said that his administration had established a direct backchannel with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), while stressing that he was not under pressure to bring the conflict to an end.

“They’re good poker players, but they’re dying,” Trump said of the IRGC. “I have no time schedule. I’m not in a hurry.”

"Midterms have nothing to do with my thinking," he said.
