Cabinet, Public Admin Secys get one-year extension

Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani and Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Md Ehsanul Haque will continue in their respective positions for another year on a contractual basis.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued separate notifications on Monday extending their tenures. Their new one-year contractual appointments will take effect from Tuesday, August 18.

Under Section 49 of the Government Service Act, 2018, the appointments have been made on the condition that the officials will not engage in any other profession, business, or work with any government, semi-government or private institution or organisation.

Nasimul Gani, the country’s 26th Cabinet Secretary, assumed office on February 16, a day before the BNP-led government took office. His current contractual tenure expires on Monday.
