Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will embark on a four-day official visit to Tokyo on 26 October at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
A reliable source from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka confirmed the development on Tuesday (6 October).
Sources said the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Tokyo from 26 to 29 October. During the visit, Tarique Rahman will hold bilateral talks with the Japanese Prime Minister. He is also expected to meet Emperor Naruhito of Japan.
A Ministry of Foreign Affairs official stated that energy cooperation, manpower exports, investment, trade, and various bilateral matters are likely to dominate the discussion agenda.
A diplomatic source in Dhaka revealed that both sides are currently discussing several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs). Among these, an MoU on manpower exports is nearly finalized and is likely to be signed during the Prime Minister's Tokyo visit subject to mutual consent.
