Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairman Professor Dr Mobasher Monem has decided to resign from his post.
However, he has not yet submitted his resignation letter. He is expected to send the letter to the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday afternoon.
PSC Public Relations Officer SM Matiur Rahman confirmed the matter to meia at 2PM.
Matiur Rahman said the chairman called him earlier in the day and informed him that he would step down from his position. He also said the chairman would send a letter to the Ministry of Public Administration in the afternoon. However, the letter had not been sent to the ministry as of the time of his statement.
Then-PSC Chairman Md Sohorab Hossain and 11 other commission members resigned after the fall of Sheikh Hasina government on August 5, 2024.
In October 2024, Professor Mobasher Monem of the Department of Public Administration at the University of Dhaka was appointed chairman of the PSC.
