The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Public Administration of the 13th National Parliament recommended identifying and taking necessary action against public servants non-cooperating or showing negligence in government work to implement the "Bangladesh Above All" policy.

The committee also recommended probing the causes behind slow-moving projects under the ministry despite available budget allocations.

The recommendations were made during the committee's maiden meeting held at the Jatiya Sangshad Bhaban on Wednesday, with Committee President Sayeed Ahmed MP in the chair.

Addressing public officials at the meeting, the president directed them to clearly present any legal, administrative, or practical hurdles before the committee without hiding information, relevant documents, or real-ground scenarios.

He emphasized simplifying citizen services, ensuring accountability, and saving citizens' time and expenses through the effective use of digital technologies, while taking firm measures against irregularities.

Sayeed Ahmed reminded public officials that they are servants of the republic, not aligned with any political party, individual, or vested group, urging them to break away from conventional mindsets to ensure transparency and cooperation.

The committee suggested changing mindsets to drive state reforms, invoking nationalist values and patriotism to execute the 31-point reform agenda through coordinated efforts at the field level.

At the beginning of the meeting, a condolence motion was passed following the demise of former Dhaka-4 MP and BNP Central Executive Committee Trade Affairs Secretary Salahuddin Ahmed.
