The Bangladesh Air Force has participated for the first time in a large-scale multinational air exercise involving eight countries.
The exercise, named Tarang Shakti-26, was held at Jodhpur Air Force Station in Rajasthan, India, from September 26 to October 12.
In a press release on Wednesday (October 14), the Indian High Commission said the second edition of the multinational exercise was organised by the Indian Air Force.
Aircraft from the air forces of Bangladesh, India, Australia, France, Germany, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates and the United States took part in the exercise. Representatives from 32 other countries also attended as observers.
A 19-member Bangladesh Air Force team, comprising pilots and technical personnel, participated in the exercise. Two other members of the force joined as observers.
The press release said the participation marked the Bangladesh Air Force's first involvement in such a large-scale multinational air exercise.
The exercise provided Bangladesh Air Force personnel with practical experience in multinational air operations and opportunities to exchange professional knowledge and expertise with personnel from participating countries.
It also aimed to promote mutual learning and strengthen coordination among participating air forces through joint multinational air operations.
